Vesiculitis. Types, Symptoms and Causes

#1 Post by Stoyanov » 30 Apr 2018, 15:31

Vesiculitis is a male reproductive system disease described by inflammatory process in seminal vesicles, one of the most important elements of the reproductive functions.
This disease most often develops due to the presence of a site of infection in the adjacent organs of the genitourinary system: the prostate, epididimes or the urethra. Also, vesiculitis can develop after a general infectious disease (cold or flu). Due to a significant decrease in immunity, pathogenic bacteria can enter seminal vesicles even because of a dental problem or other distant source of infection.

Types and Symptoms of Vesiculitis
Two forms of vesiculitis can be distinguished, acute and chronic. More often, the disease has a chronic sluggish form manifested in relatively mild symptoms.

Chronic form is a consequence of acute vesiculitis not treated either in a timely manner, or completely. For this reason, when revealing the first symptoms of the disease, one should not self-medicate, but seek help from a qualified specialist. Only a doctor can prescribe a comprehensive and maximally effective therapy. In the vast majority of cases, independent attempts will create the appearance of elimination of the problem only. Incorrect intake of drugs will drive the infection deep, rendering vesiculitis from acute to chronic form, which is much more difficult to treat.

Acute vesiculitis is accompanied by the symptoms listed below:
• Bilateral or unilateral (more common) pain in the inguinal area and in the lower abdomen. Sense of discomfort becomes more intense with defecation and with a filled bladder.
• Painful erection and ejaculation. Prolonged pain after the completion of a sexual intercourse.
• Premature ejaculation (short intercourse).
• Orgasm degradation or even anorgasmy.
• Bloody inclusions in seminal fluid, change in semen quantity (decrease or increase in the volume of ejaculate) and quality.
• Increased viscosity of sperm, up to the formation of clots, and lumps.
• Urination disorder.
• Pyorrhoea with urine and seminal fluid.
• Increased overall body temperature, chills, fatigue, malaise, headaches

The patient suffering chronic vesiculitis has a pain in the perinea region, rectum, and pelvis. These sense can be either constant or accompany the process of urination, defecation, or ejaculation. Erection and ejaculation issues may occur. In some cases, chronic vesiculitis occurs without any symptoms. This is a very dangerous condition, since if not treated the infectious processes in the seminal vesicles can lead to infertility.

Causes of Vesiculitis, Routes of Infection

As mentioned above, vesiculitis is often determined by diseases of the male genitourinary system or prior flu, sinusitis and other illnesses. In the first instance, the infection enters the seminal vesicles from the adjacent organs, with the causative agents of the disease being sexually transmitted infections. It is for this reason that it is not recommended to conduct a promiscuous sexual behavior, which increases significantly the risk of getting an STI. In the latter case, the infection that caused general disease enters the seminal vesicles with blood.

The factors that increase the risk of vesiculitis development are as listed below:
• A sedentary lifestyle, which contributes to the formation of congestive phenomena in the small pelvis.
• Defective nutrition, which causes frequent intestinal obstructions and general decrease in immunity.
• Inert, or vice versa, too active sexual behavior, regular coitus interruptus as a contraception method.
• Sources of chronic infection such as sinusitis, caries and so on.
• Injuries to pelvic organs.
• Excessive heat loss.
